The Maker

Colleen Sullivan is a spunky millennial who has a passion for bringing people together over good wine and food. She’s worked her way up from server to head winemaker in just three years at Revolution, an urban winery and restaurant in the heart of downtown Sacramento. She’s on a mission to put Clarksburg on the map for Chenin; the hot days and the cool delta nighttime breeze of the town, just 15 miles from downtown Sacramento, make it one of the best places in the world for growing Chenin Blanc.

The Wine

Tropical aromas, stone fruit, and honeycomb — this light, dry, Chenin Blanc is the perfect blend of fruity and funky. It’s versatile and high in acidity, making it the perfect food pairing and porch sippin’ wine.

The Can

  • 100% Recyclable
  • Doesn’t affect the taste
  • No light exposure or oxidation
  • No “corked” wines
1 can is equivalent to 1/3 bottle

The Label

The can design features the Sac-town skyline as a nod to Revolution Wines’ location in the heart of downtown Sacramento, and the peachy color suggests the stone-fruit aroma of the Chenin.

Pair With

Dress it up with oysters and fancy stemware, pair it with your turkey and cranberry sauce leftovers, or take it straight outta the can with spicy takeout.

Winemaker Notes

Chenin Blanc from Clarksburg is one of few areas where the true varietal characteristics can be shown. We hand pick all of our fruit and carefully choose which lot remains in stainless steel or which goes to neutral barrels for fermentation and aging. The earlier of the two Chenin harvests, from the warmer Block 44 (the Wilson’s home vineyard) was fermented in neutral barrels and went through spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Barrels were stirred twice before racking & blending. The second pick was from the cooler Block 20. This wine was fermented and aged in stainless steel until blending with the barrel fermented lot. The final blend is approximately 48% barrel fermented & 52% stainless.

True to the nature of Chenin Blanc, this wine has acid aplenty. It has a lovely lemon/lime flower bouquet, with lemon zest & jasmine along for the ride. In the mouth, it is zippy & minerally, with white peach, a limestone mouthfeel & lemon balm on the finish.
